In this project I aimed to reincarnate a 1990 infomercial for a glorified panini press called Le Snack by turning it into an over the top shitshow - which it surprisingly wasn't far from in its original form. I had a great time making this project, it took me back to when I used to make foul youtube poop meme edits to torture my video and film teacher in 8th grade, which was

some of the most fun I've ever had in school. I think finding the Le Snack infomercial was like discovering a diamond in the rough, there was just so much happening to make it a solid foundation to mess with. I had started initially thinking I'd head in a more artistic direction with it, since I feel it has aesthetic value and could tangentially tie into the themes of my zine, but that direction quickly derailed when I downloaded the Vine boom sound effect and found some other classic profanity sounds. Originally I was going to make the narrative about the LeSnack itself being a personified character that felt immense pain whenever used, having it cuss out the chefs and having the chefs act like they were torturing it - but with the amount of dialogue compared to close up shots of the LeSnack, and the fact that the chef is a genuine asshole in the original made it so I couldn't ignore the value in just taking it to the extreme. I started with just the sound effects and adding vocals later, but I think even though I crammed many noises in there I could've done more since there's so much dialogue in the clip - so honestly, I wish I went even crazier with more obnoxious noise spam to even out how much dialogue there is. However, I'm still pretty pleased with the final product.
